Imam Ridwanullah Jamiu, the chief Imam, Lekki Central Mosque was born in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. He obtained his primary education in St. John’s African School, Maraba – Ilorin; his secondary education in Government Day Secondary School, Fate, Ilorin. After his secondary education, he proceeded to Muhyideen College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Kulende, Ilorin where he spent three years for secondary education in Arabic and Islamic studies, and another two years for a Diploma in Islamic and Arabic Education. He obtained his first degree in Law in the University of Ilorin, and his second degree in Law (Common and Islamic Law) in the Bayero University, Kano.
He was the National Secretary of Muslim Corpers’ Association of Nigeria during his service year, and concurrently the President of the association in Jigawa State. Ridwanullah Jamiu has memorised the whole of the Qur’an. He has taught in many schools. He presented several Islamic programs in Kwara Television, and Jigawa Radio. He presently appears on Salaam TV on Consat and some other broadcasting stations in Lagos State.
Ridwanullah Jamiu is a writer. His books include:
‘O God! Which is Your Religion? An Incisive book on Comparative Religion’, ‘Teach yourself Arabic within a Short Period’, 90 Common Mistakes in Supplication’, ‘Arrow of Truth’, ‘Life of a Corper’, ‘Adhkaar Book for Young Muslims’, etc. He has also written a number of enlightening booklets, such as ‘Zakat and the Salary earners’, The Key to the Kingdom of God’, Salat at a glance’, Muslim Unity: the Shia/Sunni Doldrums’, ‘Towards Global Reformation’.
Imam Ridwan Jamiu is happily married with children. He was appointed the Chief Imam of Lekki Central Mosque in 2014.
